What is the U.S.-Saudi Arabian Business Council?
The U.S.-Saudi Arabian Business Council (USSABC) was established in December 1993 to improve the mutual knowledge and understanding between the private sectors of the U.S. and Saudi Arabia, and to promote trade and investment between the two countries. Today, the Council is recognized as the premier U.S.-based bilateral business promotion entity working with Saudi and American companies. With offices in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and the U.S., and boasting a membership base of 400 leading American and Saudi companies, the USSABC effectively utilizes its strong U.S. and Saudi Government support and deep-seated market knowledge and contacts within Saudi Arabia to accelerate the speed and ease of doing business in the Kingdom. What does the Council do?
Quite simply, we make business happen between the U.S. and Saudi Arabia. We provide quality one-on-one business advice and support to U.S. and Saudi companies that have the potential and commitment to develop and maintain new business relationships. Our scope of services is defined by the needs of the companies we serve and includes in-depth analysis of trade, economic and regulatory issues, visa facilitation, partner identification and qualification, and early relationship troubleshooting, among others. We also have a proven track record of successfully guiding U.S. firms with existing market share onward to greater market penetration and expanded business relationships in the Kingdom. As a bilateral business organization, we also assist Saudi Arabian companies with business in the U.S. We are always mindful that the success of any client we take on reflects directly on our capabilities and the skills of our Business Advisory Services (BAS) team and the USSABC, which is why we make it our number one priority to create optimal outcomes for them. We do not just facilitate business, we help companies steer the course.
Who should become a member?
U.S. companies seeking to enter the burgeoning Saudi market or expand their existing market presence should become a member of the Business Council. With billions of dollars’ worth of trade and investment opportunities in Saudi Arabia, the USSABC provides U.S. members with business insight and analysis, access to high-level Saudi Government officials and businessmen, and customized consulting services to advance our members’ market objectives.
Likewise, Saudi companies looking to identify and connect with U.S. partners, better understand geographical or industrial submarkets, or identify key decision makers should join as a member. The USSABC consistently provides Saudi members with market expansion assistance, facilitation of meetings, and identification of new regional partners to improve market penetration and, ultimately, success in the U.S. market.
Why join as a member?
Whether it is securing new customers, gaining valuable market intelligence, promoting your products and services, obtaining access to business opportunities, or improving exposure, the USSABC provides solutions and advisory services that allow companies to grow their business. Members receive a number of complimentary services, such as visa facilitation and consulting hours, and additional services at greatly reduced cost. Members also receive priority on all requests for research services, visa facilitation, and event invitations.
Has the Council been effective?
Through our business advisory services, trade missions, and event programs, the Business Council has helped generate several hundred million dollars in new business deals. From providing the most effective custom advisory services to offering market intelligence and arranging meetings with key decision-makers, the USSABC takes pride in ensuring that U.S. and Saudi businesses succeed in their partner markets. Our recent outcomes include sourcing new partners for Fortune 500 companies, compiling detailed local demographic and employment data for clients’ internal feasibility studies, and successfully scheduling meetings for member companies with senior government officials and senior executives that they were previously not able to secure on their own.
