H.R.H. Prince Miteb Makes Historic Visit to the U.S. to Hold Talks with President Obama and Key Government Leaders

H.R.H. Prince Miteb Bin Abdullah, Minister of the National Guard, has traveled to the U.S. on a historic official visit to meet with President Barack Obama and high-level government leaders, including Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel. The purpose of the visit is to discuss the ongoing strategic U.S.-Saudi relationship that spans 8 decades, as well as regional security in the Middle East.

Opportunities at Exclusive Roundtable Discussion

The U.S.-Saudi Arabian Business Council (USSABC) and the Royal Commission at Yanbu (RCY), the master planner and managing authority for Saudi Arabia’s Yanbu Industrial City, held an exclusive roundtable in Houston, Texas on November 4, 2014. Hosted by H.E. Dr. Alaa Nassif, CEO of RCY, the program served as a forum to share market information, address concerns, and engage in dialogue with a select group of companies who are involved in target industries that Yanbu would like to support and grow in the Kingdom. Kingdom Ranks ahead of Major Economies
in Ease of Doing Business

According to the World Bank’s Doing Business 2015: Going Beyond Efficiency report released in October 2014, Saudi Arabia ranks as the 49th most business-friendly country out of 189 economies.  Although dropping five positions from the previous year, Saudi Arabia has continued to maintain a strong environment for business and investment across a number of the report’s cateogories.  By comparison, Saudi Arabia holds more favorable rankings than major emerging global economies with Brazil 120th, Russia 62nd, India, 142nd, and China 90th. With an overall distance to frontier score (DTF) of 69.99, Saudi Arabia also ranked well above the Middle East and North African average DTF of 59.23.  More...
 

USSABC Promotes Saudi Market Opportunities
at Virginia Conference on World Trade

On October 29-30, the U.S.-Saudi Arabian Business Council (USSABC) participated in the 66th Virginia Conference on World Trade in Richmond, organized by the Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP). The conference featured panels, keynote speakers, and networking events, all focused on helping Virginia companies increase their presence in international markets. The Business Council held one-on-one meetings with companies in a variety of industries looking to export to and invest in Saudi Arabia. Additionally, the USSABC participated in a panel discussion providing valuable information on relevant market opportunities in an array of burgeoning Saudi industry sectors.  More...

We are pleased to announce the relocation of our Riyadh office to the newly constructed Al Mashreq Office Complex. The new USSABC office is centrally located among major corporate companies and is a short distance from key commercial sites. The office contains state-of-the-art meeting facilities and video and web conferencing technology. USSABC Promotes Saudi Business Opportunities
during Pennsylvania International Week

On September 15-26th, the U.S.-Saudi Arabian Business Council (USSABC) participated in Pennsylvania International Week (PIW), a ten-day event organized by Pennsylvania’s Department of Community and Economic Development. As the Authorized Trade Representative (ATR) for Saudi Arabia, the USSABC met with more than 80 Pennsylvania companies and provided consultation on market intelligence and entry strategies, trade regulations, and potential Saudi partner companies. The USSABC was joined by 20 other ATRs representing countries from all over the world in an effort to support small and medium-sized businesses that export globally. The PIW program traveled throughout the state and held meetings Pittsburgh, Erie, Harrisburg, State College, Philadelphia, Wilkes-Barre, among others.  More...
