Clinton Meets with H.M. King Abdullah

On February 14, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton made her first official visit to Saudi Arabia where she met with H.M. King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. During her two-day visit to the Kingdom, Secretary Clinton and H.M. King Abdullah discussed a number of key regional issues, including the Iranian nuclear program, regional cooperation to thwart the growing Al Qaeda presence in Yemen, and the reopening of Middle East peace talks.  Secretary Clinton also held a joint press conference with Minister of Foreign Affairs H.R.H. Prince Saud Al-Faisal. Prince Saud noted that the Secretary’s visit coincided with the 65th anniversary of the U.S.-Saudi relationship, as H.M. King Abdul Aziz Al-Saud and President Franklin Roosevelt first met on February 14, 1945.  More...
