Abdallah Jum’ah Named Co-Chairman of U.S.-Saudi Arabian Business Council

Vienna, Virginia - March 16, 2015 - The U.S.-Saudi Arabian Business Council (USSABC) is pleased to announce that Mr. Abdallah S. Jum’ah has been named as the organization’s new Saudi Arabian Co-Chairman. Mr. Jum’ah currently serves as Chairman of The Saudi Investment Bank (SAIB). Previously, he served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Saudi Aramco from 1995 until 2008. His tenure includes roles on Saudi Aramco’s Board of Directors and as Director of Aramco Services Company, Saudi Refining, Inc., Saudi Petroleum International, Inc., Motiva Enterprises, S-Oil Corporation, Petron Corporation, Motor Oil, Corinth Refineries S.A., and Chairman of Vela International Marine Ltd.

Additionally, Mr. Jum’ah has served on boards for several international universities, including as Vice Chairman of the International Advisory Board at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals. Mr. Jum’ah is a longtime friend and supporter of the USSABC, having been on the Council’s Board of Directors while serving as President and CEO of Saudi Aramco.

Mr. Jum’ah studied at the American University in Cairo and the American University of Beirut and completed the Harvard Business School Program for Management Development. He was also awarded an honorary Doctorate Degree by Hankuk University in Seoul, South Korea in April 2007.

The USSABC Board of Directors and staff thank Eng. Mohamed Al-Mady for his support of the Business Council, first as a Board Member beginning in 1998 and as Saudi Arabian Co-Chairman beginning in 2012. The Business Council wishes him continued success in his new role as President of the Military Industries Corporation.  

Mr. Jum’ah shares leadership of the Business Council with Peter J. Robertson, United States Co-Chairman and former Vice Chairman of Chevron.
