USSABC Leads Pennsylvania Companies on Business Development Mission
The mission was led by Pennsylvania State Senator Mike Brubaker, currently serving his second four year term. Senator Brubaker, an international business advocate, created the Senate International Commerce Caucus in 2010 in order to foster relationships and exchanges between Pennsylvania businesses and global markets.
The mission included prominent Pennsylvania companies from a wide range of sectors, such as sustainable energy and engineering, power and lighting technology, petrochemicals, industrial equipment and supplies, and medical equipment and healthcare. Edward Burton, Chief Executive Office and President of the USSABC, said “The Business Council is pleased to have the opportunity to work with Senator Brubaker and the Pennsylvania Center for Trade Development to promote Pennsylvania companies and their technologies in the Saudi market. There is a strong complementarity in products and services between the Kingdom and the Commonwealth.”
The mission program began in Riyadh where delegates attended briefings on the Saudi economy and business environment followed by one-on-one meetings with members of the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry and representatives from Saudi companies. The delegates also attended a reception at the Intercontinental Hotel in Senator Brubaker’s honor, where they had the opportunity to network with high-level executives of the Business Council’s Saudi member companies.
Upon arriving in Dammam, the mission delegation, along with Eastern Province industry leaders and U.S. expatriate community businessmen, attended a dinner co-hosted by the American Business Association of the Eastern Province. On the mission’s final day, delegates received a presentation from the Saudi Electricity Company followed by a luncheon and one-on-one company meetings hosted by the Asharqia Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
