U.S.-Saudi Arabian Business Council and American Business Association – Eastern Province to Host Reception for Saudi Delegation at the Offshore Technology Conference

VIENNA, VA – April 26, 2011 – The U.S.-Saudi Arabian Business Council and the American Business Association, based in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, will host a reception in honor of the visiting Saudi delegation of businessmen to the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) on Wednesday, May 4th.

This year, the U.S. Commercial Service is bringing a delegation of over 95 representatives from some of the largest Saudi companies, including Abdulla Fouad Holding Co., Rezayat Trading Co. Ltd., and Abdulhadi Al-Qahtani & Partners Group, among others. Representatives from Saudi Aramco and Aramco Services Company will also be present.

The program will feature remarks from Amer Kayani, Minister Counselor of Commercial Affairs at the American Embassy in Riyadh, Mike McKinzie, Board Member of ABA – EP, and Business Council President and Managing Director Edward Burton. “We look forward to OTC each year, because it is such an exceptional occasion to bring leaders from the U.S. and Saudi energy industries together and provide the opportunity to establish real business relationships,” Mr. Burton said. The reception, organized annually by the Business Council, draws over 150 U.S. and Saudi industry leaders in oil, gas, and petrochemicals.

Saudi Arabia, with its lucrative market and long-standing relationship with the U.S., presents numerous business opportunities for American companies. Over the next five years, the Saudi Government and Saudi Aramco plan to spend approximately $107 billion on upstream and downstream operations, particularly in the areas of natural gas and offshore drilling.

“Developmental and infrastructure growth in Saudi Arabia is expected to present major opportunities in increase U.S. and consequentially create American jobs for many years to come. U.S. exports equal American jobs,” said Mr. McKinzie.
