USSABC to Lead U.S. Companies from the Northeast
The goal of the USSABC-ETC Business Development Mission is to provide American companies with first-hand experience of Saudi Arabia’s rapidly growing business environment and introduce them to the $1 trillion worth of project trade and investment opportunities that Saudi Arabia has earmarked through 2020 across all the main sectors in the Kingdom. The companies represent the States of New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey, and cover a broad spectrum of industry sectors including aerospace and defense, automobiles, trailer and truck equipment, construction, consumer-goods, manufacturing, water desalination, research services, medical and pharmaceuticals, and telecommunications and information technology, among other sectors.
The agenda includes meetings with high-ranking government representatives and influential leaders from the private sector in Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam, Saudi Arabia’s three major commercial centers. Participants will have access to market briefings, networking receptions, and one-on-one business meetings with prospective agents, distributors, and end-users during the mission. Participants will also be hosted by the Chambers of Commerce in Riyadh, Jeddah, and the Eastern Province.
As a precursor to the mission, Mr. Edward Burton, President and Managing Director of the USSABC, held a series of business development seminars throughout the Northeastern states. These seminars were aimed at promoting trade and investment opportunities in Saudi Arabia, and generating interest among local businesses for the USSABC-ETC business development mission. In September, the USSABC participated in Pennsylvania International Week (PIW). Hosted by the State of Pennsylvania’s Office of International Business Development, PIW is an event that aims to bring trade representatives from a wide range of countries and local companies together to discuss best export and investment opportunities in their respective international markets. During the two-week event, Mr. Saud Al Suwaileh, Manager of the USSABC’s Riyadh Office, traveled to the U.S. in order to represent Saudi Arabia as he toured nine locations throughout Pennsylvania with other international trade representatives, giving a series of presentations, seminars, and networking events for U.S. businesses interested in the Saudi market.
