April 29, 2008 – Huntsman Corporation and Al-Zamil Holding Group have broken ground on what will become a world-scale ethyleneamines plant in Jubail. The two companies will manage the project through a joint venture company, known as Arabian Amines Company. Construction of the plant is scheduled for completion at the end of 2009. Once the plant comes online, it is expected to produce approximately 27,000 metric tons of ethyleneamines per year. Ethyleneamines are used in a wide variety of application, including fungicides, paper resins, epoxies, and lube oils.
