Kingdom Ranked Top Humanitarian Donor by U.N.
July 19, 2010 – The United Nations ranked Saudi Arabia as the largest international donor to humanitarian appeals, according to a recent report released by the organization. The rankings are based upon the amount of international aid given as a percentage of GDP. The Kingdom gave 0.19 percent of its economy’s value, ranking it first above Sweden (0.14 percent) and Norway (0.13 percent). The United States ranked 19th among countries polled, giving 0.02 percent of its GDP in foreign aid.
