Alfanar, SEC Partner to Power Hail Region
July 5, 2010 – Alfanar Co. (Alfanar) recently secured a $122 million (SR457.5 million) contract with Saudi Electricity Company to expand its existing power plant in Hail. Alfanar will be the engineering, procurement, and construction contractor for the project, which will include the supply and installation of two 80 megawatt (MW) gas turbines, a heat recovery steam generator, electrical transformers, and a fuel condition unit with associated switchgear. The expansion project is scheduled for completion by summer 2011 and will increase the generation capacity of the current power plant by 160 MW.
