Aramco Seeks Partners for Wasit Project
June 28, 2010 – Saudi Aramco recently announced that it is accepting bids for contractors to build the company’s planned Wasit Gas Plant in the Eastern Province. Saudi Aramco predicts that the plant will cost between $6-8 billion (SR22.5-30 billion) and will be the largest gas plant in Saudi Arabia with a production capacity of 1.8 billion cubic feet per day of natural gas, will cost between $6-8 billion (SR22.5-30 billion). The front-end engineering and design is already complete, and Saudi Aramco is currently considering 12 companies in the bidding which will close September 29th. Construction packages offered include a gas unit, a cogeneration power plant, a sulfur recovery unit with utilities, and a natural gas liquids fractionation plant.
