U.S.-Saudi Arabian Business Council Return to Full Graphics 2009 Events October 30, 2009 – Saudi Aramco recently received two of eight Virtual Reality Training Systems (VRTS) from EON Reality as a part of a contract signed earlier this year. VTRS is designed to reduce the cost of training and improve the retention of training procedures as well as improve safety measures. Saudi Aramco will now be able to virtually simulate high-risk situations and complicated procedures with real-time feedback in order to more effectively train employees. The Rock Outcrop Simulation is a simulation-training environment based on high resolution LDIR data with multiple levels of detail and texture-mapping, which allows the user to navigate and manipulate the 3-Dimensional model. The second VRTS, the Vertical Seismic Profile Acquisition involves a creative way of displaying basic physics and wave propagation through rocks with fully functional equipment used at the facilities on site. EON Reality is now working to develop six additional VRTS for Saudi Aramco to complete the contract.
