Honeywell Strengthens Saudi Presence
October 26, 2009 – Honeywell International (Honeywell) is expanding its presence in Saudi Arabia through the company’s recent agreements with King Faisal University (KFU) and King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM). The company announced an academic and industrial collaboration program with KFU to provide technical and research support, training, internships, scholarships, and bursaries to selected students enrolled in the university's electrical, instrumentation, chemical engineering, computer science, and management programs. The program will commence in September 2010 with the launch of a summer internship program and academic achievement awards for six students, in addition to regular seminars and career days hosted by Honeywell executives.
This coincides with another contract signed between Honeywell and KFUPM to establish a new integrated facility at the Dhahran Techno Valley (DTV) business cluster. The DTV premises, which are due to open in the fourth quarter of 2010, will house three Honeywell divisions: Honeywell Building Solutions, Honeywell's Unit Operating Procedure, and Honeywell Process Solutions. The new location will help Honeywell better manage existing relationships and partnerships with organizations such as KFUPM, while keeping close geographical proximity to its important customers in the energy industry.
