Pfizer Establishing Pharmaceutical Factory in KAEC

March 1, 2013 – Pfizer Inc., one of the largest pharmaceutical companies globally, has announced plans to construct a drug manufacturing and packaging facility at King Abdullah Economic City in the western region of the country. The plant, which is scheduled for operation in 2015, will be the first of its kind in the Gulf Cooperation Council and is expected to produce an estimated 18 million medicine packages yearly. The creation of a pharmaceutical hub in Saudi Arabia will further the country's initiative to create job opportunities and train its citizens in technical and vocational fields.
