Al-Muhaidib Awarded $178 Million in Contracts by NWC
September 25, 2012 – Al-Muhaidib Contracting Company, an operating unit of A.K. Al-Muhaidib & Sons Group of Companies, has been awarded two contracts valued at $178 million (SR667.5 million) by the National Water Company (NWC) of Saudi Arabia. Al-Muhaidib will be working in a joint venture with Vinci Construction UK on the design and construction of the Briman Strategic Water Reservoir and the Al Khumra pumping station in Jeddah.  The water reservoir is a two year contract with the first year dedicated to the construction of the 1.5 million cubic meter facility and second to provide operation and maintenance services. The pumping station has a similar contract, with the first year devoted to procurement and construction of the station and the second year focused on operation and maintenance of the facility.  These contracts are part of a $5.3 billion (SR20 billion) initiative taken by the NWC to develop and improve water and wastewater services in the country.
