May 18, 2012 – Abdullatif Al-Othman, former Senior Vice President, Engineering and Project Management for Saudi Aramco, has been appointed Governor of the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA). SAGIA is a Saudi Government organization created in 2000 to manage the investment environment in the Kingdom. Its objective is to achieve rapid and sustainable economic growth by creating a pro-business environment, providing comprehensive services to investors, and fostering investment opportunities in key sectors of the Saudi economy. Mr. Al-Othman holds a MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and joined Saudi Aramco in 1981 as an engineer in Engineering and Project Management. He has worked in several technical and administrative positions, including Senior Vice President of Finance with Saudi Aramco, before joining SAGIA.
