World’s Largest Dairy Queen Opens in Riyadh

June 21, 2011- U.S. ice cream chain Dairy Queen Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Berkshire-Hathaway Inc., has opened its largest location in the world in Saudi Arabia. The 7,500 square-foot (697 square-meter) restaurant is two levels, can seat 240 customers, and is one of the three locations that opened in the capital city in June to mark the start of the chain’s expansion plans. The Riyadh location will serve the restaurant’s classic menu including its signature Blizzards, soft-serve cones, sundaes, and hamburgers. The fast-food retailer plans to build five more locations by the end of this year, and to have 32 locations across Saudi Arabia by 2015 under a franchise deal with Al Safwa Food Group.
